Boating On The Chesapeake

Today I went out on the Chesapeake Bay with friends. This is a picture of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge as we head out. The Chesapeake Bay is the largest estuary in the United States (so says Wikipedia).


We went out on Chex's boat. Here he is along with Mike, who is piloting the boat.


We sailed from Sandy Point State Park to Annapolis. While in Annapolis, I walked to the State House. This is the House Chamber.


The Senators don't have it so good. This is the Senate chamber.


We spent most of the day in Annpolis, but I didn't take many pictures. This is the last picture I took. It's a picture of the reflection of the sun setting as we pulled the boat back onto its trailer.

Mud Bog Race

I went to the Mud Bog racing event at Kingsdale.



Said bog of mud.



My cousin Frank was racing in the event. This is his truck.

Off he goes! And so does the mud.



This is what trucks had to get through at the start. The sign in front used to say "Start."



This is my cousin's truck after the first run. Not quite as clean as before. He placed 9th out of 23 in the first run in the BB class.



Here he goes to race in the X class. Nobody made a full pull in the X class race, but my cousin made it further than anybody, so he won.

Recent Concerts

I went to several concerts in the past two weeks. I have no ticket for the Cannibal Corpse concert I went to. The Red Chord, Job For A Cowboy, and Psyopus were also part of the concert. I saw 2 out of the three, I'm just not sure which two. Anyway, the day after I saw Cannibal Corpse, I saw Dimmu Borgir. At the same place. Touring with Dimmu Borgir are Unearth, Devil Driver, and Kataklysm. I missed Kataklysm. I only caught some of Devil Driver's stuff, but it sounded pretty good. Unearth didn't thrill me that much. Dimmu Borgir was good, but the sound wasn't right through most of the first half of the show. It was hard to make out songs I knew.


One week later, at the same spot, I saw Type O Negative. With them were Brand New Sin and Celtic Frost. Brand New Sin was just a good heavy rock and roll band. I liked their stuff. Celtic Frost was very good. Really impressive. I will probably see them in concert if they headline, which I am sure they will. Type O Negative was pretty good. Again, the sound was messed up. There was an old guy doing sound for Celtic Frost, he did great. The guy doing sound for Type O was younger but not young. He turned off the metal that was playing while the stage was being set and played some sort of R&B crap. So he had that going against him from the start. He was constantly missing having the mics up when the performers started to sing. Somehow he still managed to get feedback noise several times during the performance, too.

PM Summit May 2007

Once again, I found myself at the Deerfield Hyatt. That's OK, I like the Hyatt. This ice bucket had the liner creatively arranged, so I took a picture of it.


Once again, many pillows on a bed. What to do with all the pillows. What to do.


I had to do something with all of the pillows. This is harder than it looks.
