D.C. Trip

On this day, in addition to doing some geocaching, I was invited by my friends Jeff and Zoe down to the National Mall to participate in a photo scavenger hunt.

Jeff, Zoe, their son Jack, and a player to be named later.

The idea was to go around the National Mall and take pictures of team members next to the things given to us in a book of photo clues, such as this globe.

The triceratops was not in the hunt, but it could have been!

We met on the Mall near the Smithsonian Castle.

Inside the castle there is a crypt!

Here is the nice stone box holding the bones of the Smithsonian's founder.

Ah, perspective.

The photo scavenger hunt was a fun time.

Afterwards, Jeff and I headed off to the World War II Memorial, past the mighty Washington Monument.

Well, OK, here's the real one.

We arrived at the memorial.

It commemorates the war in the Europe.

And the war in the Pacific.

A wreath sculpture from the memorial.

The Lincoln Memorial is within sight of the World War II Memorial.

Ducks enjoy the Reflecting Pool.

I thought this was cool! Kilroy was here!

A special note to the enemies of freedom.

That wraps up my short trip to the nation's capital!
